Traffic plan for swearing in ceremony released by police

In view of swearing- in of the chief minister at Parade Ground, the Dehradun police have drafted a traffic plan and some routes have been changed in the state capital on Saturday.

No heavy vehicle would be allowed to enter the city while the vehicles on emergency services will reach the city via Dudhali. Much before the arrival of VVIPs at GTC, all the vehicles would be stopped from  moving on the GTC Road, said SP Traffic DS Gunjyal.

He said that in view of swearing- in of the chief minister at Parade Ground, the entry of all the vehicles would be stopped ahead of the ground.  The movement of all the vehicles around Parade Ground- Tibet market to Lansdowne to Kanak Chowk to Daung House to Rojgar Tihara to Convent Tihara would be stopped. The VVIPs would enter the venue via EC Road, Survey Chowk or Pacific to Rojgar Tihara to Convent Tihara.

Government officers and the pass- holders coming from Pacific will enter the venue from the gate near Danga House. The common people have been advised to park their vehicles at Rangers’ Ground and Municipal Corporation’s parking space.

Gunjyal said that Vikram route-2 will return from Sahastradhara crossing. Vikram route-3 will follow the route as Chandarnagar crossing to Doon Chowk to MKP Chowk. Vikram route-5 will return from Saharanpur Chowk. Vikram route-8 will return from Prince Chowk. Buses and Vikrams of Premnagar route will return from Clock Tower. Buses coming from ISBT will return from Tehsil. City buses coming from Rajpur Road will return from Darshan Lal Chowk, Clock Tower. Buses coming from Raipur road will return from Chuna Bhatta.

Vehicle parking arrangements for VIPs have been made at behind the stage in Parade Ground campus. For MLAs, vehicle parking has been made near the water tank at Parade Ground and Doon Club. The government officers  would  have their vehicles parked at Dunga House while the pass holders or the media persons will park their vehicles at Pavilion Ground. BJP activists who are having valid passes will have their vehicle parked at Ranger’s Ground.
