EC meeting held to appoint protem speaker after counting

Dehradun district election officer Ravinath Raman met the district officials to discuss matters related to the dissolution of the outgoing Vidhan Sabha after the result is declared and the notification is released by the Election Commission of India for the formation of the new House. Besides, matters   related to the oath taking of the new chief minister and other cabinet ministers, appointment of the protem speaker, nomination of the Anglo- Indian community representative came up for discussion during the meeting.

DM directed the additional DM (finance) and Public Works Department officers to coordinate with the state administration for seeking funds to complete all the arrangements related to oath taking ceremony. PWD officials would make the seating arrangements for the dignitaries, senior officers and the general people who would attend the oath-taking ceremony.  Additional DM (administration) Harveer Singh was directed to fix the venue of the oath-taking ceremony in coordination with the departments concerned. It is learnt that the function is likely to be held in any of the places like   Parade Ground, Pavilion Ground and Rangers’ Ground on any day from March 12 to March 20.   DM also directed the police officers to maintain law and order and to draft the traffic plan and make parking arrangements in coordination with the city magistrate.
