BJP workers are more loyal than congress; Teerath

Sounding happy over being appointed as the  Bharatiya Janata Party national secretary,  Teerath Singh Rawat said that the BJP workers in sync with the discipline the party is proud of rarely switch sides in  contrast  to the Congress activists who are inclined to change sides according to their convenience. Notably, Rawat had rebelled against the party after he was made to vacate the Chaubattakhal seat from where he was elected in the 2012 assembly election for the party leader Satpal Maharaj to step into the contest. Later, he was pacified with the party’s national leadership appointing him as the national level secretary.

He expressed his opinion of the steadfast loyalty the party activists are known for while addressing the party workers associated with the BJP city unit. The city unit activists organised a meeting to felicitate him following his new appointment in Dehradun

Reminiscing on his past, he recalled the days when he   used to organise morning meetings (Shakhas) for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh when he was in the college.  “The principal rusticated me from the college.  Later, I became the students union president of Srinagar Garhwal University. Then the same principal praised me for sticking to my ideological moorings and   persistence to carry on despite setbacks,” he said.

Lauding the simple life Teerath Singh Rawat has been leading despite holding positions of importance, the seven- time MLA from Dehradun Cantt seat, Harbans Kapur   said his life is a source of inspiration for others in the party. “Pride never gets the better of his humble self. The party’s national leadership has done the right thing by rewarding him with the post of the national level secretary,” he said.
