With the swearing in of the new ministry likely to be held in a few days, the Dehradun district administration is now busy making arrangements for the big event. The district election officer Ravinath Raman who is also the district magistrate visited the probable venues – Ranger’s Ground or Parade Ground on Tuesday on the instruction of the state’s chief secretary. He also discussed with the officials matters related to the formation of the new House. Besides, matters related to the oath taking of the new chief minister and other cabinet ministers, appointment of the protem Speaker and the nomination of the Anglo- Indian community representative came up for discussion during the meeting.
DM directed the Public Works Department executive engineer Devendra Shah to coordinate with the state administration for seeking funds to complete all the arrangements related to oath- taking ceremony, including building the rostrum for the oath- taking ceremony. PDW officials would make the seating arrangements for the VVIPs, VIPs, senior officers and the general people who would attend the function.
DM also directed the police officers to provide fool-proof security, to draft a traffic plan and to make parking arrangements in coordination with the city magistrate.
Others present at the meeting were senior superintendent of police (SSP) Sweety Aggarwal, additional DM (administration) Harbeen Singh, ADM (finance) Beer Singh Budiyal, SP City Ajay Singh, SP Rural Shweta Chowbey, city magistrate SS Martolia and officers of other departments.
