Dev Kumar Meena Sets New National Record in Pole Vault

In a remarkable feat during the athletics events at the 38th National Games, Dev Kumar Meena of Madhya Pradesh set a new national record in pole vault, crossing an impressive height of 5.32 meters. He broke the previous record of 5.31 meters set by S. Siva in Gujarat in 2022.

Dev’s achievement was met with applause and admiration from spectators and fellow athletes. Reflecting on his journey, the record-holder shared the challenges he faced. “The journey to the national record was very long. The biggest support has been from my family and coach,” Dev said.

Hailing from a farmer family, Dev spoke about the struggles he endured to reach this milestone. “Coming from a rural background to achieve this was not easy. Today, I wanted to do something new, and I created history,” he added, expressing gratitude to those who supported him along the way.

Dev’s achievement not only highlights his dedication and hard work but also inspires young athletes across the country. His record-breaking performance underscores the rising talent in Indian athletics, marking a proud moment for Madhya Pradesh and the nation at large.
