Saints Honored CM Dhami at Prayagraj for UCC

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the ‘Samanta Ke Saath Samrasta’ program at Prayagraj Uttar Pradesh.  During the even the CM Dhami was felicitated by saints for implementing the UCC in Uttarakhand. With this implementation Uttarakhand has become first state in India to do so.

Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami expressed his gratitude for the blessings of saints on the sacred land of Triveni and Mahakumbh. He called the implementation of UCC a significant step toward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India. “The honor bestowed upon me by the saints is a recognition of every citizen of Uttarakhand,” he said.

The Chief Minister highlighted his government’s commitment to UCC, recalling the promise made during the 2022 assembly elections. He noted that the decision was formalized in the first cabinet meeting of his government, with a dedicated committee established to oversee its implementation.

CM Dhami emphasized the importance of UCC in ensuring safety and equality, referencing the tragic Shraddha Walker case in Delhi. He asserted that the implementation of UCC would prevent such incidents in the future, ensuring the protection of women. He also expressed confidence that UCC would soon be adopted across other states.

Prominent saints, including Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri Maharaj and Swami Chidanand Muni Maharaj, lauded the Chief Minister for his vision and leadership. They highlighted Uttarakhand’s spiritual significance and its role as a pioneer in implementing UCC. Swami Kailashanand Giri remarked, “Despite being a small state, Uttarakhand has set an example for the entire nation.”

Swami Chidanand Muni added, “Under CM Dhami’s leadership, Uttarakhand has elevated the honor of Mother India.” The event saw participation from prominent saints, including Mahamandaleshwar Swami Balakanand Giri Ji Maharaj, Mahant Shri Ravindrapuri Ji Maharaj, and Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, among others.

The program underscored the historic importance of UCC and its potential to inspire similar initiatives across the country.
