The path of bus service opened between India and Nepal On Friday, the State Transport Authority (STA) allowed the proposal to grant permits to the roadways. Everyday a bus from Dehradun and Anand Vihar bus stand will go to Mahendranagar in Nepal. However, due to normal formalities between the Central Government and the Government of Nepal, this bus service will have to wait around a month.
A meeting held in the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Transport Secretary and President-STA Shailesh Bagauli was decided on three issues. Permission granted to permit roadways to Nepal bus service. On the overloading, legal action was also taken against the Adarsh Verma v. State Government case under the penalty collection process. So far, the Revenue Department imposes fine on the per-passenger in overloading. The High Court has ordered the creation of a concrete arrangement in the overloading, not considered the process as valid. The government will present its side in the high court on this subject. The third decision was related to the deceased dependent permit transfer. In this case, STA has allowed permit transfers.
Dehradun-Nepal bus ticket cost to be Rs 450
With the start of Uttarakhand-Nepal bus service, one will be able to travel between Dehradun in Uttarakhand to Mahendranagar in Nepal in Rs 450. Roadways will run a general class bus service from Dehradun and Anand Vihar to Mahendranagar Route. After approval from STA, this proposal has to be sent to the Union Foreign Ministry. From there the Government of India will take formal approval from Nepal. There is a plan to run this bus service as a daily service.
