Police have announced a route diversion plan for the city in view of the International Yoga Day programme slated at FRI campus on Thursday where the Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be present along with over 50,000 participants. The route diversion would be effected from 3 am to 10am on Thursday. This was disclosed by the ADGP Ashok Kumar at PHQ on Tuesday.

The entry of the vehicles plying from Ballupur to Prem Nagar and Chakrata Road would be restricted. The vehicles coming from Vikas Nagar to Dehradun would be diverted to Harbatpur via Shimla bypass while the vehicles coming from Selaqui, Rajawala to Dehradun would be diverted to Dhulkot via Shimla bypass and the vehicles coming from Sudhowala Prem Nagar to Dehradun would be diverted to Prem Nagar intersection via Shimla bypass. Besides, the vehicles coming from Rangadwala to Dehradun would be diverted to Panditwadi via Vasant Vihar to Balliwala and the vehicles going from ISBT, Niranjanpur to Prem Nagar would be diverted to St. Judes intersection via New Village side while the vehicles going from Kolagarh, Clock Tower to Prem Nagar, Vikas Nagar would diverted to Ballupur intersection via Balliwala to St. Judes intersection to New Village side.

Movement of the heavy vehicles from 12 am onwards on Thursday would be diverted too.

Two- wheelers would be diverted from 3 am to 10 am. However, there would be no restriction on the movement of the emergency vehicles like Ambulance and Fire Brigade.

The police officers said that they are seeking full cooperation from the people in ensuring smooth traffic flow on the day when the VVIP would be in city apart from a huge number of participants for the mega Yoga show.
