Sanitation workers strike continued

DAINIK NATION BUREAU

Unfazed by the stern warning of the District Magistrate, Dehradun, the sanitation workers continued with their strike for the sixth day on Saturday.

Due to this Capital grappling with the rising mound of stinking garbage found on the gasping roads.

The agitators said that they would not buckle under the administrative pressure and would continue with the strike unless and until their demands are fulfilled.

Meanwhile, the residents are at the receiving end of the continuing logjam as the piles of garbage are growing in volume every hour. The MCD’s claim of having made alternative arrangements to keep the city clean rings hollow on the ground.

The civic body claimed to have put into place has failed to clean even a single place where the garbage keeps accumulating.
