Four days long Cultural & Musical Fest concludes in the presence of Chief Guest Ashok Kumar ADG Police and Dr. Nadini Devi Singh along with PHD Chamber leadership, with thundering performances of RIHAA band and performers of AAINA Theatre group at UTTARA HAAT ( Formerly known by name TERA GAIN) a culture and heritage hub of the state of Uttarakhand next to IT park.. Guru Veena Agrwal with her team presented all the Indian classical dance forms which included Kathak, Bharat Natyam, Manipuri, Mohiniyattam, Oddisi & Kathakali. 17 Yrs old Abhilasha from AAINA presented beautiful Garwali dance.The event was organized byPHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry, an apex body in the service of the nation since 1905, in collaboration with Uttarakhand Gramya Vikas Smiti (UGVS), Govt. of Uttarakhand, powered by Hotel Madhuban, Sikka Kingston Greens, KAFAL as hospitality partner along with Uttarakhand Heritage – The first bilingual Heritage Magazine of Uttarakhand as the ‘Magazine Partner.’
The inaugural day was enthralled by Mr. Sunil Thapa who is known for the theme song sung by him for the bollywood movie “Badri The Cloud” and is one of the founders of Dehradun based “D BAND” along with Rajan Iyer lead Guitar player and Rajesh Thakur the percussionist. Dr. Nandini Devi Singh a multitalented veteran artist with many national and international accolades was invited by PHD Chamber as chief Guest. The four days event will comprise of many enthralling cultural and entertaining performances by professional and amateur artists in various performing art streams, including professional bands like Cardamom & Rihha, performances by Guru Veena Agarwal ( Bhartanatyam) and Sweety Gusain ( Kathak) from Delhi. Amateur artists from AGS Manch run by Dr. Pratibha performed on 29th. On 2nd day of the performances students of leading academy Indian School of Talent (ISOT), unique of its kind founded by Mr. Manu Panwar performed in the amphitheatre of UTTARA HAAT and Band SAPTAK captivated the audiences. Glee Music Academy and CARDAMOM Band performed spellbinding performances on 3rd day. The people apart from the entertainment also had an opportunity to not only buy organic products which are directly sourced from the farms but also taste the state cousin a speciality of KAFAL a Terrace restaurant at Uttara Haat.
Uttarakhand Gramya Vikas Smiti (UGVS) has been working rigorously for the farmers’ welfare in all districts of the state and has set up various branded retail outlets with brand name called HILAN. One of the most prominent retail outlet is the Agri Mart at UTTARA HAAT where the brand HILAN is being sold as product direct from the farm. There is a dedicated retail outlet of the Organic Produce facilitated by Uttarakhand Organic Board at the Agri Mart of the Uttara Haat. Apart from the terrace restaurant “Kafal” and various halls, gardens, board meeting rooms and open meeting arenas there is a state of the art beautiful amphitheatre for cultural and musical functions.
This Cultural & Musical Fest is prelude to the proposed elaborate programs in later months. Anil Taneja, the Regional Director of PHD Chamber states that the chamber is looking forward to promote UTTARA HAAT as a most happening place in the town and will keep organizing more Cultural, Musical & Heritage based programs of national and international repute. As per SP Kochhar, Chairman Uttarakhand State chapter of PHD Chamber, the chamber will always support the State Govt. to realize its vision to turn UTTARA HAAT as a hub for Cultural and traditional inheritance of the state and create an environment of festivity for the locals and for the lure of the tourists.
