An FIR has been lodged against Jawaharlal Nehru University professor Atul Johri at Vasant Kunj North Police Station in Delhi for allegedly molesting and indulging in obscene comments on female students. It has been alleged that Professor Atul Johari, Life Science professor of JNU, during class, has been using obscene remarks and comments on female students.
Several JNU students were protesting against Professor Atul Johri for 4 days in JNU campus. On the basis of complaint of 7 students of JNU, Vasant Kunj registered a complaint under Section 354 and 509 IPC in North Police Station.
A few days ago, a professor of Jawaharlal Nehru University has been accused of publicly assaulting a student of the University during the protest against the compulsory attendance. A senior police official said that both sides filed a case in Vasant Kunj Marg police station. A group of students had closed the entrance of many classes opposing the circular of JNU administration, with 75 percent compulsory attendance in the classroom.
Teachers and students protested against changing of seven chairpersons and deans on Thursday in Delhi’s JNU.
