Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat applauded Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar efforts for popularizing Yoga and Ayurveda among the masses. He spoke on the need of popularizing Yoga and Ayurveda around the globe, so that India leads the world in these two fields. He expressed these views after inaugurating newly constructed Ayurveda Bhawan at Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar on Tuesday.
India is known for its tradition and custom around the globe. India would teach the world on character building and work culture. “India can set an example of peace, prosperity and healthy lifestyle with the help of Yoga and Ayurveda,” he reiterated, adding that research work should become a regular feature in the field of Yoga for healthy lifestyle.
CM Rawat has said it was the only Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative that International Yoga day is being celebrated on June 21 every year across the world. India has attained great heights and recognition with the help of Yoga. CM also attended annual function of Patanjali Ayurveda University, Haridwar.
Speaking on the occasion, State AYUSH Minister, Dr Harak Singh Rawat has said that Yoga and Ayurveda was mentioned in Veda, Upanishads and Purans since ancient times. State Government has taken a decision to establish India’s first Ayurveda Research Institute at Charak Danda near Kotdwar. State Urban Development Minister, Madan Kaushik said that Yoga and Ayurveda have been gaining attention from residents across the country.
Expressing his views, Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev said that saints had played a pivotal role in the development of the nation. According to him, Veda, Purans, Upanishads, spiritual meditation have been part and parcel of the Indian culture. Consumption of indigenously made products should be done on large scale in order to build a strong Indian economy. He spoke on the need of transforming from waste to best. Life-saving Ayurvedic medicines based on old manuscripts should be protected.
Minister of State for Education Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, Acharya Balkrishna, Union Government Secretary (Ayush) Padamshree awardee Rajesh Kuteja, Ayurveda University vice chancellor, Dr Abhimanyu Kumar, District Magistrate (Haridwar) Deepak Rawat, SSP Haridwar Krishan Kumar VK and others were present.
