UK to earn Rs 2000 crore through new nazul land policy

Trivendra Singh Rawat led Uttarakhand government has approved new Nazul land policy. The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting on wednesday.  With this decision, the land can become free-hold by depositing some charges and government is expecting income of around Rs 2000 crore in near future. There was no official briefing made in view of upcoming budget session, which is schedule to begin by February 20. Sources said that the cabinet took up 17 issues on the day.

In which possession rights to individuals having houses on Nazul land up to 200 square metres can be given by depositing an amount equal to 25 percent of the prevailing circle rate. This rate would be 35 percent of the circle rate for land holding from 201 to 500 sq meters while those occupying land more than 500 sq meters a sum of 60 percent of the circle rate would be charged.

Those who have not renewed their lease deed will have to pay higher dues. Similarly who have violated the lease deed by selling or dividing the land, the cost of conversion would be more.

It is pertinent to mention here that the cabinet gave clearance for the constitution of a governing body led by the chief secretary and a steering committee for smooth functioning of Health Systems Development Project. The World Bank funded project aims to strengthen health infrastructure in Uttarakhand.

The cabinet also approved the start-up policy of the state to create environment to set up about 500 new start-ups in the state. The government has decided to set up a start up council chaired by an eminent personality; the council would look through the projects that come up for its consideration.

Now private secretaries would be provided to chairman and CEO of Agriculture Produce Board. They approved Rs four crore for acquiring four houses in Kedarnath.

Cabinet also cleared the guidelines that have been framed for implementation of the Housing Policy.

Cabinet has also agreed for making Category III and Category IV land at Lalkuan in Nainital district free hold by giving six months time for carrying out regularisation of the land in the revenue records.

The Uttarakhand Private Security Guards Policy under which training centres for the guards would be set up where they would have to undergo a minimum of 100 hours of training in classroom and 60 hours in field theory in 20 days. However the ex-servicemen would be given relaxation in the above mentioned criteria.

Cabinet exempted the premium which would have been charged for transfer of 59.243 hectares of land on Union Government for National Highway in Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar district.

It also gave its clearance for handing over five bigha of vacant plot of old Jail to the Department of Judiciary that will utilise it for the construction of chambers for lawyers.
