BJP collected Rs 25 crore under lifetime contribution fund

DAINIK NATION BUREAU

The Uttarakhand BJP has collected a whopping Rs 25.11 crore in the end of the Ajeevan Sahyog Nidhi launched in January this year. In the initial stages, it  appeared the party would not be able to meet the target. However, the contribution by party leaders, who are eyeing ticket in the coming urban local bodies elections, seems to have done the trick.

Cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj has contributed Rs 41 lakh, followed by Minister for Higher Education Dhan Singh Rawat Rs 1 crore, and Dharampur MLA Vinod Chamoli Rs 1 crore. State party chief Ajay Bhatt said the party would open a fixed deposit account and utilise the interest earned for running the party office.
