Former Chief Minister and Senior Congress leader Harish Rawat has expressed regret over the death of Prakash Pandey, who had visited to janta darbar led by state agriculture minister Subodh Uniyal after consuming pesticide, and alleged that five to six person have committed suicide due to inability to repay debt so far. State government has failed to address people grievance which is why people are taking extreme step.
Now it is clear that people are committing suicide due to demonetisation and GST. It has proven that small trader have lost their business and they are unable to repay the bank loan. Earlier farmers were committing suicide due to debt and now trader Pandey has committed suicide. He has left their family alone and we can understand his mental status. It is known to everyone that every person wants to give his best to his family and ward. They work hard for the betterment of their family.
Transporter Pandey had disclosed that earlier his turnover was in crores but since demonetisation and GST his business has finished. Now he does not have option except to end his life. he had also alleged that in this regime (Trivendra Singh Rawat led BJP regime) people problems are not being addressed. They are being harassed on the name of solution. Ex-CM Rawat further alleged that government had adopted lackdaisical approach in prakash pande’s treatment otherwise he would not have died.
