DAINIK NATION BUREAU

Governor Dr KK Paul said today that voluntary blood donation was the greatest service to humanity which gave life to lakhs of people. Speaking at the programme of the Rotary club held at Raj Bhawan, the Governor said that people should be made more aware about blood donation.

The Governor honoured blood donors on the occasion. He said that donating blood saved lives and also benefitted the health of the donor.

He expressed gratitude towards the donors who were honoured. A person needed to have a philanthropic outlook for becoming a blood donor. During his student life, he had been donating blood.  And said it was a very satisfying experience. Blood was beyond religion and caste and donors or receivers never asked to whom the blood would be given or from whom the blood had been received. The need for blood was increasing world wide.

Congratulating Rotary Club and the donors Dr Paul said this gave strength to society. Rotary Club could contribute to other social welfare activities in Uttarakhand.
