Second avalanche hits Army post in Kupwara

Two army men went missing after a snow avalanche hit army post in Nowgam sector of Kupwara district today, reports said.
According to the sources, two army men of 20 Dogra came under the avalanche. Sources said that the army has launched a rescue operation to trace the missing men.
Earlier, three soldiers of the Indian Army went missing on Tuesday after an avalanche hit their post on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
According to Sources Three army jawans of 36 unit went missing at Mani Post Bagtoor Gurez reportedly due to a snow avalanche,” a police officer said.
Rescue operations at both places were on when reports last came in. More than five feet deep snow had accumulated on the ground on the LoC in Gurez sector due to the heavy snowfall that started on Monday evening and was still continuing on Tuesday morning.
