Ex NIM Director to contest election from Pauri

Finally former director of Nehru institute of Mountaineering (NIM) Col Ajay Kothiyal has declared that he would contest election from Pauri only. Although he has not disclosed that which party would give ticket to him.

Ironically, Prime Minister’s Security advisor Ajit Dobhal’s son Shourya Dobhal is nurturing his dream to reach lok sabha via Pauri Lok Sabha constituency. As he is very much close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi so if his son contest election then Col Kothiyal will have to wait. In this situation congress, which is also running through crisis of leadership there since departure of former MP Satpal Maharj in 2014.

As we know that former chief minsiter Maj Gen BC Khanduri won the seat several time and he had vacated the seat in 2007 after becoming chief minsiter of uttarakhand. Although Satpal Maharaj had defeated ex servicemen during general election-2009 otherwise the seat having large of number of ex servicemen which is why party prefer ex servicemen there.
