State to give panic button to women shortly

In a bid to provide help to the women state government is going to provide panic button to women shortly. In this regard Uttarakhand Women Welfare and Child Development, Animal Husbandry ,Sheep and Goat Rearing, Fodder and Pasture Development and Fisheries Minister of State (independent charge ) Rekha Arya took information on rescue button and panic button for women security at Vidhan Sabha on Thursday. This scheme will be started as a pilot project and necessary changes will be made after gauging the public reaction.

It was informed about panic button that it will work after getting linked with mobile app, Internet and GPS. The panic button can be put in a key ring and in any other form for women’s security. This button will have 12 registered mobile links including police and family members.

 In case of any threat, after the women push the panic button then within 30 seconds, all the registered mobile phones will get a message of the danger.  If the mobile phone is on then within a distance of 30 meters in open and 10 meters in a closed environment, and if the button is pressed than it will send the distress message.
