From the last one week, the sun has turned up the heat. On Monday, the maximum temperature of Dehradun reached 40 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, for the next three to four days, the severe heat will take a hard test of the people.
The Meteorological Center has issued a warning saying that in some parts of Uttarakhand, there is a possibility of steady rise in temperature for the next three to four days. On Monday, Haridwar recorded the highest temperature in Uttarakhand. Mercury was recorded at 40.9 degrees Celsius here. Whereas, temperature in Jaspur and Pantnagar of Kumaon reached record level of 40.3 degree Celsius.
In the plains, the mercury is climbing, the mountainous area is not insulated from heat. On Monday, the temperature of Doon was recorded at 40.2. Uttarkashi’s maximum temperature was recorded at 36.4, Joshimath’s 30.7, Mussoorie 29.9, Pauri 29.6 and Nainital 27.9 degrees Celsius.
Talking about Doon, people throughout the day are feeling the heat. After 12 o’clock, the movement of people on the streets was greatly reduced. According to Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Center, the maximum temperature of Doon is 41 and the minimum temperature is likely to be 22 degree Celsius.
