For those seeking spiritual solace and Yoga, Uttarakhand is the best destination, as it has many religious destinations which can be only found in Uttarakhand,” claimed the state Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat while addressing a conclave on opportunities for investment in tourism sector in Uttarakhand was held at Bangkok, Thailand on Tuesday. Uttarakhand Tourism Secretary, Dilip Jawalkar gave a detailed presentation to investors and entrepreneurs of Thailand on the scope of tourism, tourism activities, development of tourist spots and investment opportunities in the field of tourism in the state.
In his address, CM Rawat said that Uttarakhand has emerged as a hub in the field of tourism, wellness tourism, and Ayush. Those visiting Uttarakhand would feel themselves nearer to paradise. Tourists visit Uttarakhand from around the world as it is India’s top tourist destinations. Uttarakhand offers variety for everyone. The state has more than 60 percent forest cover and having abundant natural resources which are conducive for tourism and related businesses. The state has world renowned conservation parks like ‘Jim Corbett Tiger National Park’ and ‘Asan Wetland Conservation Reserve’; and World heritage sites like ‘Valley of Flowers’ and ‘Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve’. The natural landscapes, clean and pollution-free environment are the main attraction for tourists visiting the state.
The state has many modern luxury spas and yoga centres with trained professionals and therapists. An incredible Uttarakhand offers excellent opportunities of investment in tourism sector. Uttarakhand is situated near to the national capital New Delhi and is well-connected with airports, roads and railways. Union Government is constructing all weather road upto Rishikesh, Badrinath and Kedarnath to ensure that pilgrims visit Uttarakhand throughout the year and work is on to construct ropeways.
Uttarakhand has emerged as a leading destination to learn to live life spiritually and practice being spiritually and physically well. Yoga, and Ayurveda helps in maintaining balance between physical and mental health. Considering this fact, the state government is also working towards encouraging medical tourism. Apart from its scenic beauty, Uttarakhand is also known for adventure tourism, trekking, skiing, para-gliding, camping, angling, mountaineering and rock climbing and efforts are on to provide these places of various tourist activities world class facilities. Tehri dam is known for water sports and Auli is known for skiing and trekking and offers great opportunities for investment in these areas. He welcomed prominent tour operators to invest in Uttarakhand. State government is working to develop 13 new tourist destinations under “13 Districts, 13 Destinations’ scheme. The scheme would surely be a beginning to attract investors.

State government has chosen the path of development and prosperity and to achieve these goals, Uttarakhand invites companies from Thailand to become partner by investing. He hoped that companies would come forward to tap the opportunities being offered by investing in Uttarakhand. The efforts are to make future bright for Uttarakhand as well as for Thai investors.
