Dhasmana and Goyal elected as chairman and VC of CII

Dr Vijay Dhasmana & Mukesh Goyal have been elected as the Chairman and Vice Chairman, respectively, of the CII Uttarakhand State Council for the year 2018-19, at the Annual Session of CII Uttarakhand State Council, held at Dehradun.

Dr. Vijay Dhasmana is the Vice Chancellor of Swami Rama Himalayan University and a member of Presidential Body of Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust.

Dr. Dhasmana is currently helming SRHU, the leading University in Uttarakhand, which has five constituent academic units, over 45 departments and 250+ teaching faculty. Himalayan College of Medical Sciences is the first Private Medical College of the State and is recognized as the Regional Center for Medical Education by MCI. Himalayan College of Nursing has generated more than 2500 qualified nurses since its inception in 1996.d

Dr. Dhasmana has spearheaded various national and international collaborations with renowned institutions such as IIT Roorkee, Laurea University of Applied Sciences – Finland, IBM, IL&FS, Uttarakhand Space Application Center etc. As an academician, he has many research publications to his credit.

A Ph.D in Mathematics, Dr. Dhasmana’s career journey began with his appointment as the Treasurer of Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust after his Masters in Computer Science from University of London, United Kingdom.

Dr. Dhasmana possesses a strong academics and leadership record as the Vice Chancellor. He has a deep understanding of the students and education landscape in the state of Uttarakhand and in India. His efforts and dedication brought the Medical College to the platform of the Deemed University. His undying commitment to social work resulted in the University’s seamless implementation and execution of Social Outreach Program that deals with health, sanitation, education and income generation in the rural areas of Uttarakhand. Some of these include provision of safe drinking water in 325 remote villages, construction of toilets for 14,000 families and more than 250 medical and health camps in the hinterlands of Uttarakhand.

Dr. Dhasmana is the Honorary Director of Himalayan International Institute of Yoga Sciences & Philosophy, New Delhi, General Secretary of Sadhana Mandir Trust, Chair-person of Swami Rama Foundation of USA etc. He is also a recipient of many prestigious awards including the ‘Garhwal Vibhuti Award’ for Social Service, Dr. B.C. Roy Award’ in the field of Management and the ‘Uttarakhand Ratna Award’ for his contributions to the State.

Mr. Mukesh Goyal is an Engineering Graduate from NIT Kurukshetra and has done Leadership Program from Wharton Business School, University of Philadelphia, USA. He has over three decades of experience in Automobile industry.

Mr. Goyal currently heads two plants of Hero MotoCorp Ltd., Haridwar and Vadodara Plant. He has led the green field project at Haridwar to become the world’s largest two wheeler plant with annual turnover of approx. Rs 10, 000 Crores. It is the most backward integrated plant in Uttarakhand with more than 30 ancillaries located within 10 kms of the mother plant, generating direct employment for 25000 people.

Mr. Goyal is an ardent nature lover & passionately pursues CSR projects in Uttarakhand. Mr. Goyal is also Vice Chairman of QCFI –Quality Circle Haridwar Chapter. He has also been mentoring Institute Management Committee, ITI Barkot (Uttarkashi), which Hero MotoCorp has taken under PPP program.
