No ban has been imposed on the entry of media persons in the Secretariat premises. Till date, they are visiting Secretariat as earlier for collecting the news. Since December 27, there has been no example of media persons being stopped from enterting the Secretariat .
The order being qouted was only to keep cabinet agenda confidential as it is constitutional provision. In this context it was said that no unauthorized outsiders/media will be allowed. Media persons have authorised entity with entry pass issued by Information Department.
Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh had made it clear, in a press conference on Wednesday, that state government was committed to dissemination of information. To ensure it, an arrangement of single point has been made.
Under it, all decisions and activities of government will be briefed by DG Information at 4 pm at media centre daily. ACS, Principal Secretary,, Secretary will also be present if there is any important decision. Besides, Chief Secretary has directed all principal Secretaries and Secretaries to ensure the updating of websites of their departments, so that media can access it and get all developments. Director NIC has been instructed to upload GOs at official portal of government.
