NCC should organise Sanitation campaign: Min Pandey

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) should organize sanitation campaign and workshops on digitization in different parts of the state. The land for  establishment of a NCC academy in the state should also the earmarked. The education and sports minister, Arvind Pandey made these comments in his meeting with Additional Director General of NCC, Major General C Mani at Vidhan Sabha
on Friday. The officer made a detailed presentation of the activities of NCC in the state. He was told that more than
31000 cadets are registered in the NCC in the state.   The minister told the officer that NCC cadets should travel to
the schools located in remote and mountainous parts of the state so that virtues like love towards the nation are inculcated in the students. He said that the state government is committed to improve quality of education in Uttarakhand. Pandey informed that ex- servicemen are being contacted to travel and meet the students in government schools. He assured that land would be provided for the setting up a NCC academy in the state. The minister requested that daily allowances of NCC cadets are increased. He assured full cooperation to the NCC in smooth operation of its activities in the state. The Director NCC Colonel Raman Arora, training officer Lt Col Amardeep, NCC officer state coordinator Lt J S Negi and R S Negi were present on the occasion.
