Rishikesh MLA Premchand Aggarwal has been unanimously elected as new speaker of fourth elected Uttarakhand assembly on Thursday. Thereafter most of the MLAs spoke about his achievements and while they were making praise for the new speaker then aggarwal was unable to gulp it easily. With this appointment Vidhan Sabha has declared date for the appointment of deputy speaker i.e. March 27 for nomination and March 28 for its election.
It was in the air that aggarwal would be given something by the party high command. As per the rule that house appoint senior most member Harbans Kapur as protem speaker on Monday and house elected new speaker under the leadership of Protem speaker on Thursday.
During his election it was clear cut visible that he was not being considered for the post of most coveted chair of the state assembly. With his appointment one thing is clear that other senior MLAs can’t be appointed as deputy speaker of the state. In this scenario first time MLA Raghunath singh Chouhan name is running ahead in this race.
