The Commercial Tax Department with the help of Haridwar Distributors Association, is organising a free registration camp for Goods and Service Tax (GST) that will conclude on January 31.
The camp is being organised at Geet Gobind Banquet Hall. Enlistment and enrollment of traders is being done with officials giving them detailed information about the procedure and benefit of the GST.
Arun Kumar, Joint Commissioner of the department, said a large number of traders of the city had not registered themselves for the GST so the camp is being organized to facilitate them.
A personal log for identification, password and other general information was required to complete the registration process, which traders should avail as soon as possible as GST would be implemented across the country most probably by April this year, Arun Kumar said.
Kumar apprised that if traders deliberately or due to laxity avoided the procedure, they would face inconvenience in future.
Deputy Commissioner Anurag Mishra said the traders who do not shift to the GST mode would not be able to conduct inter-state trade, which means they would not be able to procure any item from outside Uttarakhand.
Department officials and traders representatives, including Beer Singh, Roshan Lal, Gul Raj Rizvi, Shivangi Tripathi, Kalpana Tripathi, Shri Ram Arora, Shubham Aggarwal, Yaspal, Manoj, Sandeep Vaishnav and Darshan Gaurav were present at the enlistment camp
