Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and District Minister incharge Madan Kauhsik jointly inaugurated the newly constructed building of women’s hospital at Haldwani on Wednesday. The buidling besides the basement has four floors. There is provision of lift, a ramp and a mini tubewell in the building.
In his addresss, CM announced that the capacity of Haldwani Women’s Hospital has been upgraded from 30 beds to 100 beds. He said that the state government is focusing on health services in the state and more than one thousand doctors have been appointed. He said that 75 per cent posts of doctors have been filled in the state hospitals. He further said that Intensive Care Units (ICU) in all the district hospitals will functional soon for this an amount of Rs.1.23 crore has been sanctioned. He hoped that this would improve the facilities in government hospitals since tele-medicine and tele-radiology has also been started.
Chief Minister said that the facility of tele-cardiology has been started at Pauri. He said that 12 specialists have been appointed at Sushila Tewari Hospital besides sanction has been granted for the construction of Haldwani cancer hospital with 150 posts. A burn ward will also be started in the hospital and new beds will be placed soon in the women’s hospital.
Chief Minister said that health and education are two important challenges and we have taken initiatives to improve the quality of education besides improving health services. He said that to lessen the problems faced by common people through latest technology online registration in 43 hospitals of the state has been started. Through tele-radiology facilities of x-ray, CT scan,MRI and mammography are being provided in 35 medical centres in far off areas. Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that under the “ Sewa Mera Dayatava” programme, private doctors are also been requested to provide two hours of service in government hospitals.
Chief Minister said that there is shortage of doctors and paramedical staff in the state. “Proceedings are on to provide services to the doctor from other states in Uttarakhand. A large number of generic Aushadhi Centres are also being opened to provide affordable medicines to the poor people of the state”, he said. Chief Minister further said that all the arrangements in the Women Hospital in the city will be completed by the state government soon. All types of latest equipment will be arranged in new building and proper staff will be stationed. He said that many welfare schemes are being run by the government for the health of women.
District In-Charge and Urban Housing Minister Madan Kaushik said that Ayushman Bharat – Ayushman Uttarakhand will prove to be milestone for the state. He said state government is going to start the biggest health scheme till now in Uttarakhand. Under the Ayushman Uttarakhand scheme, the Government will now bear the expenditure on treatment of up to Rs. 5 lakhs for all 23 lakh families of the state. This is the government’s attempt that the benefits of health schemes being run by the government should reach every corner of the state.
Former Cabinet Minister and MLA Banshidhar Bhagat thanked the Chief Minister for increasing the capacity of the Haldwani Women Hospital from 30 beds to 100 beds. He said that the government is conscious about the health services and it is our government’s effort that everyone should get benefit from it.
The programme was attended by MLA Dewan Singh Bisht, Mayor Dr. Joginder Singh Rautela, Commissioner Kumaon Division Rajeev Rautela, Secretary Medical Health Nitesh Kumar Jha, IG Puran Singh Rawat and District Magistrate Vinod Kumar Suman.
