Tharali MLA Magan Lal Shah passes away tonight. In view of this chief minsiter Trivendra Singh Rawat, who had announced Holi Milan programme on Monday, has expressed condolence and cancelled his celebration progromme with immediate effect. This was disclosed by the chief minister media coordinator Darshan Singh Rawat on Sunday late evening.

He was suffering from Kidney failure and was admitted in jolly grant hospital for the last few days. Seeing his deteriorating condition hospital had shifted him into ICU and later chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat visited to meet him. although doctor had given enough hint that his condition has been deteriorating but they were making their effort to save his life. On February 25, Magan Lal Shah took last breath in ICU and doctor declared him dead.

Magan Lal Shah was brought into politics by former chief minister and Garhwal MP Maj Gen Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri. although his candidature for Assembly election was denied in 2002 because party had fielded GL Shah from there and he continued till 2012.

In 2012 BJP had given him ticket but he lost the seat with Congress MLA Prof Jeet Ram. In 2017 he won the seat by defeating sitting MLA Prof Jeetram but he could not complete his term and passes away.
