The Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has categorically asked to develop Kedarpuri, a surrounding of Kedarnath shrine, in grand form. The ambiance at the temple and surrounding areas should be such that pilgrims can have one of the best experiences of their life. The focus should be on the convenience and safety of the pilgrims, local priest and residents too.

Ironically, PM Modi has visited Kedarnath twice. During his last visit to Kedarnath, a day before closing of Kedarnath shrine, had inaugurated five projects. Later he was briefed by the chief secretary at airport when he had visited to address IAS trainee at LBS National Administrative Academy, Mussoorie. Since then he has been personally monitoring the progress through video conferencing and said that he would monitor the development through drone in the month of March 2018.
