India is fast growing economy; Rajnath

DAINIK NATION BUREAU

Seemingly excited with crowd Union Home Minsiter Rajnath Singh has made some comments, which grabbed media attention,  while canvassing for Doiwala candidate Trivendra singh rawat here in Dehradun on Monday.

Praising the Former Prime Minsiter Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Rajnath said that during his tenure the country with 8.4 percent GDP made history. Now the country is a fast growing economy but did not disclose the present GDP figure.    In an apparent slip of tongue, he said that the Army had penetrated into Pakistan territory while embarking on the surgical strike. The comment amazed many who understood the implication of the comment. One of them said it meant that India had granted Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir as part and parcel of Pakistani territory.   However, another commentator said that much should not be read into the statement. “Slip of tongues happens to the politicians engaged in intensive campaigning for days,” he said.
