CM Dhami Criticizes Congress and Opposition, Urges Support for BJP in Patiala Rally

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, addressing a large public gathering in Patiala, Punjab, on Sunday, sharply criticized Congress and other opposition parties for their appeasement politics and corruption. He rallied support for BJP candidate Smt. Preneet Kaur from the Patiala Lok Sabha seat, ahead of the elections scheduled for June 1.

In his speech near the mini-Secretariat in Patiala (Rural), CM Dhami emphasized that public support in Punjab is overwhelmingly with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi. He urged the crowd to vote for Smt. Preneet Kaur, stressing that every vote for BJP would contribute to the nation’s progress.

“Every vote should go to BJP in the elections to be held on 1 June,” said CM Dhami. He highlighted the rapid advancements India has made under PM Modi’s leadership, noting that India is now the world’s fifth-largest economy. Dhami projected that if Modi becomes Prime Minister for a third term, India will rise to become the third-largest economy and a global superpower.

Dhami detailed the numerous welfare schemes implemented under PM Modi’s administration, which have significantly improved the lives of millions. He listed successful initiatives such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Nal-se-Jal, Lakhpati Didi Yojana, Ayushman Yojana, Kisan Samriddhi Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, and the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. “11.8 crore farmers of the country are directly getting the benefits of Kisan Samriddhi Yojana,” he added, also mentioning the fair prices secured for farmers through increased MSP and the relief provided by the crop-insurance scheme.

The CM praised PM Modi for significant legislative changes, including the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir, the ban on Triple Talaq, and the construction of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

CM Dhami also lauded the construction of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor and the celebration of ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ in honor of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s four Sahibzadas. He emphasized Uttarakhand’s connection to Sikhism, mentioning the recent opening of the Hemkund Sahib and the ongoing Char Dham Yatra, highlighting the efforts to ease these pilgrimages through infrastructural developments like the proposed ropeway to Hemkund Sahib.

He condemned Congress and other opposition parties for their divisive politics, stating, “The appeasement politics of Congress & other opposition parties is a threat to the unity and integrity of India.” Dhami accused Congress of planning to seize half of the people’s earnings and cited its history of daily scams before 2014. He contrasted this with Modi’s tenure, during which India’s global respect has significantly increased.

Dhami further criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for surpassing Congress in corruption, labeling the opposition coalition as a “Thugbandhan” under the INDI alliance.

Concluding his address, CM Dhami stressed the need for a BJP victory to continue the nation’s progress and to combat the corruption and appeasement politics of the opposition. He urged the people of Patiala to support Smt. Preneet Kaur and BJP, ensuring a brighter and more prosperous future for India.
