DAINIK NATION BUREAU

Chief Minister  Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the December 16 is a historic day for valour and courage because 93,000 Pakistani soldiers had to surrender before the Indian Army during Indo-Pak war-1971. It was the greatest victory in military history. The morale of Pakistani soldiers was broken by our soldiers. School and college students should be taught about the bravery and sacrifice of the Indian Army by next year.

Chief Minister said that along with Dev Bhoomi, Uttarakhand is Veer Bhoomi as well. Here, there has always been a feeling of patriotism and dedication towards the nation. Uttarakhand is located on two international borders. But till today no anti-national elements can dare to come here. There is a sense of reverence for the soldiers in the state government. There are clear instructions to the authorities that the problems of the soldiers should be resolved on priority. For this, ADM level officer has been made nodal officer in the districts. He wants to set up a grand memorial dedicated to the Indian Army in the state, which will signify the glorious history of the Indian Army and also inspire our children.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs Gen VK Singh said that Vijay Diwas reminds us of the bravery and sacrifice of the Indian Army. Achieving such a big victory in just 13 days and creating a separate country, of course, is matter of pride for our country. Even today, enemies of the country are engaged in direct and indirect way against our country and at such a time, we should recognize our strength and should unite and defeat the enemies of the country. He said that every Indian is with the families of martyred soldiers. The society and country in which the soldiers are not respected, it collapses. The army keeps the country united. Everyone in the army is identified as an Indian.

Chief Minister and Union Minister also honoured the Veer Naaris and gallantry medal recipient soldiers and ex-servicemen in the programme. Minister of Higher Education Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, MP Mala Raj Laxmi Shah, MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, Vinod Chamoli, Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gamma, Lt Gen OP Kaushik, Lt Gen Anand Swaroop were present there.
