CM greets on national press day

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has greeted all the press representatives associated with the media on the occasion of National Press Day (November 16).

In his message issued on this occasion, Chief Minister said that the press has an important role as the fourth pillar of Indian democracy. The press has also been an important contributor to India’s freedom movement. After independence, the media is also playing an active role in the building a new India.

He said that in view of various challenges in the present scenario, the role of the press becomes more relevant and important. Independent, fair and bold media is essential for the strengthening any democracy. Chief Minister said that the National Press Day not only reminds the freedom and strength of the press but also reminds of the dedication of the press towards fairness and high ethical standards.
