CM inaugurates inter department cricket tournament

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the 6th inter-departmental cricket tournament organized by Secretariat Cricket Club at Rangers Ground, here on Sunday. A total of 16 teams are participating in the tournament. The inaugural match was played between I.A.S and I.P.S teams.

CM Rawat congratulated the organizers of the cricket tournament and encouraged all teams to play with sportsman spirit. He said that the best thing about cricket is that any team can win. He also stressed on importance of playing games in day-to-day’s hectic lifestyle, to give sufficient exercise to the body.

Till date, Secretariat Cricket Club has held 5 inter-departmental cricket tournaments in which the teams of Secretariat and UPCL have won twice each and the team of Education department wining once. Present on the occasion were Uttarakhand Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, MLAs Dilip Singh Rawat and Deshraj Karnwal, BJP leader Vinay Goyal, DGP Anil Kumar Raturi, Principal Secretary Anand Vardhan, ADG Ashok Kumar, ADG Ram Singh Meena, DIG (Garhwal) Pushpak Jyoti, P.C. Verma and office-bearers of Secretariat Cricket Club.
