Nainital: Taking serious note of acid attack cases, the High Court has directed the lower courts to give such judgments within three months. In such cases, the government should constitute the Criminal Inaugural Vision Board in four weeks.
The court has prohibited the sale of acid in the open and has ordered the government to immediately pay a compensation of Rs one lakh to the victim and seven thousand rupees per month after the first information report was filed in the acid attack case.
Court has asked hospitals to make private wards for acid attack victims. Private hospitals have been ordered to give free treatment to acid sufferers. The court directed all senior superintendents of police to complete the investigation within seven days. It has also directed the lower courts to give a decision in three months.
The court said that no individual can be sold acid and wholesaler dealers of acid, can only give it to the hospital, pharmacy or other license holder, who does it for business.
Courts have instructed to create burn wards in every district and joint hospital within three months. The court said that cases of flirting, chasing, sexual harassment are heard in the fast track court.The case was heard before the Bench of senior judge Rajiv Sharma and Justice Sharad Kumar Sharma.
