Hemkunt Sahib Gurudwara Management Trust Chairman Narendrajit Singh Bindra has announced that Hemkunt Sahib Kapat to open on May 25. He met Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi and officially informed her about the opening date of the Kapat for this year.

During the meeting, Bindra discussed the preparations being undertaken by the Trust to ensure a smooth pilgrimage. The Chief Secretary assured full support from the state administration in facilitating the annual yatra, which witnesses thousands of Sikh devotees from across the country and abroad.

Hemkunt Sahib situated in Garhwal Himalayas at an altitude of 15,200 feet and, remains snowbound for most of the year. It is accessible only during a limited period. The shrine holds deep religious significance for Sikhs, as it is believed to be the meditation site of Guru Gobind Singh Ji in his previous life.

Authorities are working on improving infrastructure, road connectivity, and medical facilities to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for pilgrims. The opening of the portals marks the beginning of the sacred pilgrimage season, drawing devotees seeking spiritual solace in the serene Himalayan environment.
