The sacred doors of the world-famous Shri Badrinath Temple will open for devotees on May 4 at 6:00 AM. The date was announced on Vasant Panchami at the Narendranagar Raj Darbar by Raj Purohit Acharya Krishna Prasad Uniyal. The announcement followed traditional rituals, including Ganesh Puja, Panchang reading, and Chowki Puja, along with an astrological study of Maharaja Manujendra Shah’s birth chart.
The preparations for the annual Char Dham Yatra will formally commence with the Gadu Ghada Tel Kalash Yatra on April 22. Under the leadership of Maharani Mala Rajya Lakshmi Shah, married women will extract sesame oil at the Raj Darbar for the Mahabhishek of Lord Badri Vishal. The oil, carried in the Tel Kalash, will embark on the ceremonial yatra, traveling through Rishikesh, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Dimmar village, and Pandukeshwar before reaching Badrinath on May 3.
The temple doors will open after the Mahabhishek with sesame oil on May 4, marking the start of the Char Dham Yatra. Thousands of devotees are expected to visit the sacred Himalayan shrine, seeking blessings and spiritual solace in the divine abode of Lord Vishnu.
