Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has directed immediate action on several initiatives concerning women and child welfare in the state. She emphasized the urgent formation of Internal Complaint Committees (ICCs) in government departments to address sexual harassment at the workplace, with 1549 government and 13 non-government ICCs already in place. CS has instructed remaining departments to take swift action in this regard.
The Women Empowerment Department was also tasked with contacting pregnant women through call centers to confirm the three mandatory ANC checkups before delivery and gather feedback. Additionally, the department was instructed to reach out to beneficiaries of various state schemes, such as Gaura Nanda Devi, to ensure women and girls are receiving the intended benefits.
A key focus of the meeting was on child welfare, with the Chief Secretary directing the creation of permanent digital profiles for children in Government Child Care Homes and similar institutions. This initiative aims to monitor their progress as they transition into education and employment.
Raturi also set a week-long deadline for the establishment of a State Resource Center and urged the collection of data on adolescent girls who have dropped out of school. She reviewed the progress of several important welfare schemes, including Mission, Vatsalya, Mission Shakti, and Poshan 2.0, stressing the need for timely and effective implementation.
