Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed Vijay Sankalp Rally at Ramlila Maidan in Kashipur, Udham Singh Nagar on Friday. In his address Rajnath Singh said that the entire state is blessed by the gods. He highlighted the rich legacy of bravery and valour that Uttarakhand. State has bestowed upon the nation, producing a large number of courageous soldiers.
Expressing the government’s commitment to the welfare of soldiers, Rajnath Singh spoke about the implementation of the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme. He emphasized that while the Congress merely promised OROP to ex-servicemen for years, the current government has allocated Rs 1 lakh crore to ex-servicemen under this scheme. He stressed the invaluable sacrifices made by soldiers for the nation.
He also criticized the previous Congress government for neglecting border villages, labeling them as the “last villages.” In contrast, he stated that the current government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi prioritized the development of marginal villages, ensuring basic infrastructure development. He highlighted India’s increased stature on the international stage under the current government, moving up from the 11th ranked economy to the 5th, with projections to become the third-largest economic power by 2027.
Speaking about Uttarakhand’s development under the “double engine” government, Shri Rajnath Singh praised the rapid progress of the state. He mentioned that 25 crore people in India have risen out of poverty, attributing this to the government’s policies. Regarding foreign relations, he echoed former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s sentiment that while friends may change, neighbors remain constant, emphasizing the importance of maintaining good relations with neighboring countries.
Rajnath Singh highlighted the BJP track record of fulfilling promises, citing the construction of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya after getting a majority in Parliament. He also mentioned the fulfillment of the promise to abolish Article 370 and implement the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), clarifying that CAA is a law that grants citizenship rather than taking it away.
Referring to the Russia-Ukraine war, Rajnath Singh praised PM Narendra Modi’s swift action in bringing back 22,000 Indian students safely from the conflict zone by establishing a ceasefire.
The rally, attended by a large gathering, was filled with enthusiasm and fervor as the leaders reiterated their commitment to the development and progress of Uttarakhand and the nation as a whole.
Chief Minister Dhami extended a warm welcome to Union Minister Rajnath Singh upon his arrival in Kashipur on behalf of the people of Devbhoomi. He expressed confidence that with the blessings of the people, the BJP government is poised to be formed again and Modi ji will once again assume the role of Prime Minister. CM Dhami emphasized that the people of Nainital Lok Sabha seat, particularly Janardan, have firmly decided to ensure the victory of Ajay Bhatt ji. He urged that, like the last Lok Sabha elections, this year Nainital should witness even higher voter turnout in favor of the BJP.
