State’s Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Shri Vijay Kumar Jogdande, announced at a press briefing held at the Secretariat on Monday that the voting process for the Lok Sabha General Elections concluded peacefully on April 19, 2024, without any untoward incidents reported throughout the state.
He revealed that the overall voter turnout in the state, as recorded by EVM machines, stood at 57.24 percent. Notably, Haridwar Lok Sabha seat witnessed the highest turnout at 63.53 percent, with a total of 12,93,363 voters casting their ballots. The breakdown included 6,90,238 male voters, 6,03,080 female voters, and 44 third-gender voters.
Similarly, Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar recorded a turnout of 62.47 percent, with 12,59,180 voters participating. In Tehri Lok Sabha seat, the voter turnout was 53.76 percent, with 8,48,212 individuals exercising their franchise. Garhwal seat witnessed a turnout of 52.42 percent, with 7,17,834 voters turning up to vote, while Almora recorded a turnout of 48.82 percent, with 3,05,516 male voters, 3,48,378 female voters, and 2 third-gender voters casting their votes.
