Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami categorically said that the ongoing elections are primarily centered around the theme of development. He further said that the election narrative revolves around two distinct ideologies. One is Prime Minister Narendra Modi, dedicated to fostering a prosperous and globally respected India, while on the other side are parties and alliances focused on preserving their own interests than national progress.
CM Dhami underscored that it ultimately rests with the people to decide their preference. He asserted that the trajectory of the nation is clearly moving towards development, and such opposing alliances are unlikely to sway the course. Reflecting on Modi’s tenure, Dhami expressed admiration for the Prime Minister’s unwavering dedication to serving the 140 crore citizens of India.
Addressing allegations of corruption, CM Dhami pointed out the historical context, attributing past corruption issues primarily to Congress and its coalition partners. He contrasted this with Modi’s exemplary track record of integrity and transparency throughout his career.
Discussing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Dhami highlighted its significance and the commitment of the BJP to its implementation. He emphasized that the BJP-led government in Uttarakhand has successfully implemented the UCC. With this we have fulfilled a longstanding promise made to the electorate. CM Dhami expressed hope that other states would follow suit, benefiting from the groundwork laid in Uttarakhand.
Talking about Rahul Gandhi, CM Dhami expressed disappointment, stating that despite hoping for seriousness, he has consistently fallen short. He questioned the advisability of offering guidance to someone who repeatedly fails to demonstrate commitment.
On the issue of encroachment and law enforcement, Dhami affirmed the government’s commitment to upholding the law without bias. He rejected accusations of targeting specific groups, emphasizing the importance of adherence to legal procedures.
In addressing allegations of dictatorship leveled against Modi, Dhami dismissed such claims as unfounded, attributing them to a lack of understanding of historical context and political realities. He highlighted Modi’s popularity and dismissed comparisons to past dictatorial regimes, asserting that India’s democracy remains robust.
