State-level Football competition to be held in February

State Level Committee meeting of the Sports Maha Kumbh – 2018 was held under the chairmanship of Secretary, Sports and Youth Welfare Dr. Bhupinder Kaur Aulakh at Secretariat on Thursday. Sports Maha Kumbh being organized by the Youth Welfare Department was inaugurated by the Chief Minister  Trivendra Singh Rawat at Maharana Pratap Sports College.

It was decided in the meeting that state-level Football competition will now be held between 20 and 25 February. According to the scheduled calendar in the past, this competition was to be held from January 20 to 23 in three grounds of Dehradun.

In the state level competition of Football and Kabaddi, the winning players will be given attractive prizes from the CSR Funds. With the effective efforts of Sports Minister Arvind Pandey, money has been provided in the CSR Funds for attractive prizes by PTCUL, UJVNL, UPCL and Hero Cook.

Sports Secretary Dr. Bhupendra Kaur Aulakh expressed gratitude to all the departments for the success of the Sports Maha Kumbh being organized from January 08 to February 25 and taking note of the irregularities during the Sports Maha Kumbh published in the newspaper, she instructed that the action should be taken against the erring officer/employee.

In the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the budget allocated for the competitions, the expense of participating players, the daily allowance etc.

Director Sports Pratap Shah, DIG Headquarters Narayan Singh Napalchyal, Additional Commissioner Transport Shmt. Sunita Singh, Joint Secretary Sports Attar Singh, Joint Director Panchayati Raj Rajiv Kumar Tripathi, Additional Director Education Bandana Gabrial, Joint Director of Sports Department Rakesh Dimari, Deputy Director, Ajay Agrawal and  Shakti Singh, Executive Engineer Dinesh Sharma were present.
