Bahuguna to host dinner today

Former chief minister Vijay Bahuguna, who has been hosting dinner today, has created in flutter in political corridor. Everybody is trying to study the agenda of dinner party.

Talking to the dainiknation.com, a close confident of the EX CM said that Bahuguna is hosting dinner as part of get together with the newly elected Dehradun MLAs, Mayor, Municipality Chairman, councillors. For this they have selected the venue JSR continental on way to Haridwar road. As we know that Bahuguna has served the state between 2012-2014. Thereafter he was replaced by union minister of state Harish Rawat.

During replacement he might have been offered to respectful exit to Rajya sabha, which was vacated by Bhagat Singh Koshyari after winning General election-2014. After taking reign of Uttarakhand, then chief minister Harish Rawat sent junior leader or Ex Mayor Manorma Dobriyal Sharma to Rajya sabha by overlooking candidature of Bahuguna.

Although Bahuguna tried his best to break the ice with then CM Rawat and asked him to induct at least two MLAs into his cabinet but he did not entertain. Seeing unending humiliation Bahuguna along with nine MLAs including a cabinet minister Dr Harak Singh Rawat decided to boycot the Harish Rawat government while house was passing budget-2016-17.

Later all the nine congress MLAs membership were terminated by the speaker and they challenged the decision into the court but did not get respite from there. Later congress lost assembly election-2017 and squeezed their seat to 11. Now congress is running through leadership crunch especially ahead of upcoming general election-2019. In this scenario bahuguna might be trying to showcase his strength to party high command. As we know that ruling party cuts sitting MPs seat to dilute the anti incumbency factor. If this happens then party may field Bahuguna to contest the election from Tehri lok sabha seat. In this scenario Bahuguna might have been trying to study the pulse of these leader ahead of upcoming election.

Talking to daininknation a senior leader said that you(media) say that party cuts ticket of sitting member but in reality it is party’s prerogative to field winnable candidate to ensure their victory
