Investors can make investment in tourism, yoga etc

Union Minister of State for Health Ashwani Kumar Chaubey said that Uttarakhand has immense possibilities of investment in the fields of religious tourism, yoga, dhyan kendras, panchkarma and naturopathy. He said that historical and religious places will be centre of attraction for tourists while they will prefer Rishikesh and Haridwar for Yoga and other tourist places of the state. Investors without hesitation should show interest in investment in tourism and infrastructure development of Yoga kendras.

Investors can play their role by investing in ayurvedic medicine looking at the natural beauty, spiritual format and fearless atmosphere of the state. Ayurvedic hospitals are being opened at Haldwani and other districts and through single window system there is better atmosphere for investments. He exhorted other investors besides Ananda, Patanjali to come forward in the fields of ayush, yoga and massage etc. He said that state government has announced several relaxations for investment in ayurveda and subsidy is also being provided to them.

He said that 50 crore people have been brought under health insurance of Rs. five lakh and a sum of Rs. 1300 crore have been earmarked for wellness centres and provisions of money have been made under Jan Arogaya scheme. He said that ‘Arogya Mitras’ are being appointed for running the scheme.

Uttarakhand Forest and Environment Minister Harak Singh Rawat said that MOUs worth Rs.3000 crore have been signed in the field of ayurveda and there are possibilities of bigger investments in near future. Single window system has been introduced, to remove all the problems of investments for the industrialists. In view of the summit, many ayurvedic colleges in the state have assured to start new courses of natural pathology, Ishpa, massage and yoga and conduct classes at the higher level. He said that there are possibilities of good investment by branded groups. He further said that 40 per cent medicines are being manufactured in ayurvedic sector and any big investment would give a boost to production of ayurvedic medicines and provide employment opportunities.

Secretary Uttarakhand RK Sudhanshu said that from past many years, Uttarakhand has been one of the leading states in ayurvedic medicines and inviting investors due to better conditions prevalent in the state. Many concessions are being given for investments keeping in view vast potential in the field of Ayurveda. Acharya Balkrishna exhorted the investors to invest in ayurveda sector since it has vast potential. State has trained human resource and better atmosphere and there is need for investment in ayurveda sector.
