CM asks administration to deal with drug menace

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has asked all the District Magistrates to ensure a complete ban on plastic in the state and prevent the use of synthetic drugs as well as monitor the transmission of objectionable messages and rumours on social media. He reviewed the effective efforts being made at district level through video conferencing by all the DM in this regard at Secretariat on Wednesday.

Chief Minister said that it has been decided to impose a full ban on plastics for making the Devbhoomi pollution free for which all DMs will make special efforts. He also stressed on the widespread public awareness in this regard, starting with all the temples, fairs and commerce establishments. He asked the DMs and police officers to take active participation in the efforts to keep youth away from drug addiction and make the state drug free besides taking action in this regard with strictness and also increase public awareness.

He also instructed to monitor the transmission of objectionable messages on social media. He talked for an urgent action in this regard, especially the abusive remarks made against women. Chief Minister said that the purity of the state’s environment requires consolidated efforts and effective initiatives to promote better future of the youth and social harmony.
