Bharat Ratna, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee breathed last today at 5:05 P.M. Vajpayee, one of the most charismatic and popular faces of the nation’s politics, breathed his last at Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences at the age of 93. He had been in AIIMS for more than two months and had died due to his ill health.
Three times, Vajpayee served as the Prime Minister of the country. He was away from public life for a long time due to ill health. He was battling a serious illness Dementia. Since 2009, he was on a wheelchair, the countrymen saw him last March 27, 2015, when the then President Pranab Mukherjee arrived at his residence to honor him with Bharat Ratna.
Two months ago, Vajpayee’s health became worse. Due to infections in Urinary tract, he was admitted to AIIMS on June 11. Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with BJP and leaders of different parties of the country and many dignitaries came to enquire about his health. His supporters were constantly praying for his well-being, although destiny had other plans.
