CS meets with UK industrialists ahead of investors summit

Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh met the Indian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK)  YK Sinha in London on Tuesday. He invited the industrialists for the “Destination Uttarakhand-Investors Summit 2018”, scheduled to be held in October. During interaction with the industrialists, he informed about the favorable environment available for capital investment in Uttarakhand. He informed that global investors, diplomats, trade commissioners, policy makers and aware local business community will get a platform through this summit. The possibility of capital investment in Uttarakhand will be explored through Sector Conference, Panel Discussion, Partner Countries Session, B2G (Business Community to Government), G2G (Government-to-Government) meetings.

Chief Secretary apprised the UK industrialists that in Uttarakhand, there is immense potential for investments in tourism and hospitality, agriculture and horticulture, information technology and IT based services, biotechnology, health care and wellness, education and skill development, manufacturing, infrastructure and film shooting etc.

Secretary Health Nitesh Kumar Jha gave a presentation on the business potential in health sector before the investors in the medical and health sector. He apprised them that there is a possibility of investment in the field of tele-medicine and e-health sector in Uttarakhand. He briefed them about tele-medicine, tele-diagnostic, tele-pathology, tele-cardiology, bio informatics, mobile applications and remote monitoring. He told about the investment in the super specialty hospitals, Cardiac Care Center, Nephrology Dialysis Center, Hospice Care Center, High End Diagnostic Center and Helicopter Rescue, Air Ambulance etc.

Health Secretary also apprised about the proposed Medi City in Uttarakhand. He said that with the participation of private sector, Super Specialty Hospital, Multi Specialty Hospital, Nursing College, Medical College, Dental Hospital Cum College, Holistic Medicine Center, Terminal Care Center/ Hospice will be set up in the Medi City.
