Vice President said that apart from being interesting, education should have to be in accordance with new knowledge and technology. Our universities have not been able to make their place in the list of the world’s best universities. We should take it as a big challenge. Students should spend some time in villages. They should take part in the schemes of national importance like Swachh Bharat etc. Students should think about society and nation. All the citizens of the country are our brothers and sisters.

Vice President, while congratulating the students, who got the degrees, said that because of Information Technology, the world is getting confined to a global village. Students should have the knowledge, as how to acquire new knowledge and how to adopt it in life. There should be a sense of coordination, cooperation and competition. Our goal should be to improve excellence and efficiency. Today, the world is moving fast and there is tough competition. It is era of L.P.G, meaning Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization.

Vice President said that along with many opportunities before the students, there are many challenges as well. Keeping these challenges in mind, universities should impart education to the students. India has become the sixth largest economy in the world. This is a matter of pride for all of us. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi is implementing reforms in a concrete manner. Many challenges crops up but victory over them is also registered. Like different kinds of apprehensions were expressed while implementing GST but now it is proving to be helpful in developing our economy. Schemes on large scale for the economic and social betterment have been started. These include Swachh Bharat, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, revival of Rivers, Smart City, Skill India, Housing for Everyone, Digital India, Make in India etc. All countries are looking towards India today. We have to adopt reform, perform and transform. Improvement, implementation and transformation of the country.
India was once considered as a world leader. Now once again the pride of the country has increased in the world. We should use these opportunities to strengthen the economy of the country. Development should be inclusive. The benefits of development should reach poorest of poor people. Every person should feel that he is a part of the growing India. Government of India and State Governments have started several schemes. Implementation of these schemes should be done with complete transparency and accountability.

Science and technology are for the betterment of society and humanity. We should take care of nature. Secure future is possible only with protected nature. We are facing many problems like global warming, decreasing biodiversity, lack of drinking water, lack of waste management etc. Universities should play their role in redressing these problems. Education is not limited to only employment but it also leads to expansion of knowledge. Girls should also get equal educational opportunities. There has been tradition of respecting women in Indian culture. This is the reason that the names of the rivers in the country are in the name of women. We have to return towards our cultural roots. We always believe in Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. Unity in diversity-our quality.

Our educational institutions and universities will have to play positive role in various contemporary challenges, so that the students studying here can stand firmly on their feet and face the world. The university’s work is not to just give degrees but it to impart such education that can make the youth able for global competition and to give them the benefit of the knowledge economy.
