Innovation summit in view of upcoming mahakumbh

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat participated in “Innovation Summit “ held at Haridwar on Sunday.  The “innovation Summit” aimed at holding the coming “ Mahakumbh” at Haridwar on a grand scale was organized by Haridwar-Roorkee Development Authority in collaboration with Technomedia Private Limited.

In his address CM  said that successfully organizing the “Mahakumbh” is a big challenge for the state government and it is an opportunity also for the country as well as the state. “Mahakumbh” is centre of faith only for India but for entire world. He announced that since the earth is turning into a plastic planet, every effort will be made to make next “Mahakumbh” plastic free to save the earth. He said that the state government is taking the initiative in this regard and all those using plastic bags will be provided cloth or jute bags.

The first discussion after the formation of state government was about successfully holding the ‘Kumbh mela’. He said that the State Urban Development Minister has already initiated discussions on the subject with saints and district administration on time.

Experienced officers, who had conducted Kumbh earlier, should come up with relevant plans and make available resources required for the ‘Kumbh mela’ through this summit. The government will provide those resources on priority. He said that the state government has able officers who had successfully conducted ‘Kumbh mela’ and earned a reputation for themselves at the international level. The Chief Minister also launched the (Hash) portal of Haridwar Development Authority and development portal of development department on the occasion.

By January 2019, the river Ganga will be freed of sewage drains from Gomukh till the boundary of the state. He said that the state government has a plan to save the stray cows on roads, injured and diseased cows and it will be implemented soon. CM also announced to establish a joint replica of 52 “Shakti Peeths” at religious city of Haridwar.

 Uttarakhand Urban Development Minister Madan Kaushik said that coming ‘Kumbh mela’ will be made historic. The demand to have a ring road in Haridwar has been forwarded to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. The Union Minister has agreed to the demand. He said that the state government will provide the land after acquisition to the central government by 2021. He announced that mela area will be expanded towards Bijnore road. Expert officers who had conducted ‘Kumbh melas’ in different parts of the country shared their experiences in the programme and gave suggestions to make Haridwar ‘Mahakumbh 2021’ is a better managed affairs.
