CM paid tribute to martyr Vikas Gurung

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat went to the residence of martyred soldier Vikas Gurung residence in Gumaniwala, Rishikesh and paid tributes by laying wreath on his body. Chief Minister met the martyr’s family and expressed his condolence.

He said that the people of Uttarakhand are with the family of the martyr in this hour of grief. State Government will extend possible assistance to the martyrs’ families.

Ironically, 21-years-old Vikas Gurung of 2/1 Gorkha Rifles had attained martyrdom in firing on Line of Control from other side of border in Naushera sector of Jammu & Kashmir. Vidhan Sabha Speaker Premchand Aggarwal and MLA Ganesh Joshi also paid tributes to the martyred soldier by laying wreath on his body.
